Air conditioning in Bayside Melbourne.

Bayside is period homes and architectural builds, and owners who notice where things go. Our qualified technicians install reverse cycle split systems and ducted air conditioning in Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham and Beaumaris so the system stays out of sight, under ARC licence L062149 and VBA registration 50861.

What matters here

Period and architectural homes are where installs are won.

Brighton and Hampton carry a lot of period homes, and the area has more than its share of architect-led builds and serious renovations. Each one changes how heating and cooling should be specified.

01 / Concealment

Concealed ducted is often the cleanest answer.

Run properly, the ductwork hides in the roof or in bulkheads and the air comes through discreet ceiling outlets or linear slot diffusers chosen to suit the architecture. The real questions are where the indoor units can go without spoiling a room, and how the whole system stays out of the way. See ducted refrigerated air conditioning for how we build these.

02 / Where ducting cannot run

Multi-head splits solve the hard homes.

Some homes cannot take ducting: solid brick with no cavity, a room with no roof space above it, or a heritage constraint. A multi-head split system feeds several rooms from one outdoor unit, each room on its own control, with one unit outside instead of three.

03 / Salt air

Homes near the bay face real salt exposure.

Homes close to the water in Beaumaris, Sandringham and beachside Brighton sit in salt-laden air. Standard outdoor units corrode faster there, and a corroded coil loses efficiency before it fails. For homes near the foreshore we specify anti-corrosion coils or coastal-grade housings and site the unit out of the spray, the same discipline we apply at the Portsea end of the bay.

What a Bayside installation includes:

  • Outdoor unit siting worked out for a narrow block, with airflow and service access, not under a bedroom window or on show from the street
  • Coordination with your builder or architect where one is involved
  • Energy-efficient reverse cycle air conditioners from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu or Panasonic
  • Sizing from the house, not a catalogue table, and an itemised written quote
  • Workmanship by our own technicians under ARC licence L062149 and VBA registration 50861

The Bayside suburbs we cover

We work across Bayside.

The housing is not uniform, and the right system changes with it.

Brighton 3186

Grand period homes, architect-led rebuilds and design-conscious owners. Concealment and outdoor unit siting matter most, and the beachside streets add salt exposure.

Hampton 3188

Period homes, renovations and family homes on good blocks. Ducted air conditioning and multi-head split systems both feature, depending on the house.

Sandringham 3191

Coastal family suburb with period and newer stock. Homes near the foreshore get the coastal siting and unit specification we apply up the bay.

Beaumaris 3193

Mid-century modern architecture with clean lines that concealed systems suit well, and a beachside position that brings salt into the specification.

What it costs

Starting prices for Bayside homes.

The most common heating and cooling question we get, so here are the starting prices. A tight block, solid brick, a two-storey home or a large ducted air conditioning system all move the number up.

A single-room split system starts from $1,600, and a three-room multi-head system from $4,990. Adding refrigerated cooling to existing ducted heating starts from $4,900. Whole-home ducted cooling starts from $6,990 for a small house, and most houses come in around $11,000. These are indicative starting prices, and the firm figure comes from the assessment.

We look at the home, work out what suits it, and give you an itemised written quote you can understand. See all our starting prices →

How we work

Every job starts with an assessment.

We come to the home, look at the building properly, ask how you use each space, and recommend a system that suits it. We install and replace; we do not do repairs, servicing or commercial work, so the advice is about the right new system, not a service contract.

i.

We visit

We come to the home and look at the building properly, not over the phone.

ii.

We ask

How you use each space, room by room, so the system fits the way you live in it.

iii.

We quote

A clear written quote. Where there is a real choice, we set out the options and the trade-offs rather than hand you one figure.

iv.

We install

A clean install on an honest timeline, and you deal with the same team from the first visit through to handover.

Bayside FAQs

The honest answers, up front.

If your question is not here, call us on 1800 577 522 and we will answer it straight.

Split systems from $1,600 for one room and $4,990 for a three-room multi-head. Add-on cooling to existing ducted heating from $4,900. Whole-home ducted refrigerated from $6,990 for a small house and around $11,000 for most. Indicative starting prices; the firm figure comes from the assessment. See all our prices.

The Victorian Energy Upgrades program discounts approved high-efficiency reverse cycle systems, applied upfront by an accredited provider. The property must be in Victoria, you are generally replacing an existing system, and there is no income test. The largest discounts go to homes replacing an old gas ducted heater. We confirm your eligibility at the assessment.

We install across Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham and Beaumaris from our base in Tyabb, about 45 minutes away, and we are honest about that. We do not do repairs, servicing or commercial work. If your system has failed and repair no longer makes sense, we will give you a straight replacement quote. Call 1800 577 522 and we will tell you whether we can help.

Yes, it is a large part of what we do. Solid brick with no cavity, limited roof space, tight blocks and rooms where a visible unit is not acceptable are all workable. We plan around them with concealed ducted refrigerated using linear diffusers, multi-head split systems where ducting cannot run, and careful outdoor unit siting. We assess the building first.
