Most Victorian homeowners are eligible. In general terms the property needs to be in Victoria, you are usually replacing an existing system, and there is no income test. The largest discounts go to homes that replace an old gas ducted heater with an efficient reverse-cycle system, because that upgrade saves the most energy. Renters can qualify too, with the landlord’s agreement.
The exact discount depends on the system, what it is replacing, and the current value of the energy certificates the upgrade generates, so it is not a fixed number. The program rules and amounts are also reviewed and change from time to time.
