Air conditioning Cranbourne

What Cranbourne homes need.

Cranbourne has grown fast, and the housing shows it. New estates to the east and north, a wide belt of 1990s and 2000s brick veneer with ducted gas, and the older homes and units near the town centre. Each one points to a different air conditioner.

01 / The new estates

New builds with heating but no real cooling.

Many homes in the Cranbourne East, Cranbourne North and Clyde North estates were handed over with gas ducted heating and either evaporative cooling or nothing. Zoned ducted refrigerated air conditioning, or add-on cooling on the ductwork already in the roof, finishes the house properly. We check the ducts first and tell you which one makes sense.

02 / Brick veneer with ducted gas

The 1990s and 2000s brick veneer belt.

Most of Cranbourne West, Cranbourne South and the established streets were built with gas ducted heating, and the ducts are still up there. If they are sound, add-on refrigerated cooling on the existing ductwork is the cheapest route to whole-home cooling, with one set of vents for summer and winter.

03 / Older homes and units

Older homes and units near the centre.

Around the town centre and the racecourse the homes are older, smaller or strata. A single split system or a multi-head handles most of them. The work is in choosing the outdoor unit position, the line run and, for a unit, what the body corporate will approve, and we sort that before we quote.

What a Cranbourne installation includes:

  • A check of the existing ductwork before we recommend add-on cooling or a new ducted air system
  • Sizing and airflow worked out for the actual house, not a catalogue table
  • An energy-efficient reverse cycle unit from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu or Panasonic, with the price agreed before we start
  • Outdoor unit placement agreed with you, and with the body corporate for a unit or townhouse
  • Work done under ARC refrigerant licence L062149 and VBA registration 50861

This page is about the 3977 postcode, but the same team covers the suburbs around it.

Clyde North and Clyde

New estates, mostly handed over with ducted gas and no refrigerated cooling. Add-on cooling or zoned ducted, depending on the ductwork and the size of the house.

Berwick and Narre Warren South

Established family homes on bigger blocks, many with ageing ducted gas. Add-on cooling, or a full ducted reverse cycle replacement where the heater is near the end of its life.

Carrum Downs, Langwarrin and Frankston

Back toward the bay we cover Carrum Downs, Langwarrin and Frankston, and the whole of the Mornington Peninsula is home ground.

How we work

Every job starts with an assessment.

We come to your home, look at the building properly, ask how you use each space, and recommend a system that suits it. Every installation is done under ARC refrigerant licence L062149 and VBA registration 50861.

i.

We visit

At your Cranbourne home, not over the phone. We check the roof cavity, any existing ducts, and where the outdoor unit can go.

ii.

We ask

How you use each room, so the system fits the way you live. A new four-bedroom build and a two-bedroom unit need different things.

iii.

We quote

A clear, professional, itemised written quote with the price for each option, so you can choose with the numbers in front of you.

iv.

We install

A clean install on an honest timeline, by the same technicians from the first visit to handover, with our workmanship behind it.

Cranbourne FAQs

The honest answers, up front.

If your question is not here, call us on 1800 577 522, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, or email and we will answer it straight.

Split systems start from $1,600 for one room and $4,990 for a three-room multi-head. Add-on cooling to existing ducted heating starts from $4,900. Whole-home ducted refrigerated air conditioning starts from $6,990 for a small house and around $11,000 for most houses. The firm price comes from the free assessment. See all our prices.

Usually, yes. If the ducts are sound and sized well, add-on cooling puts a new outdoor unit and coil on your existing ductwork, from $4,900. If the ducts are undersized, leaking or past their life, a new zoned ducted refrigerated system replaces heating and cooling in one go. We inspect the ductwork at the assessment and tell you which one your house needs.

For most new estate homes, zoned ducted refrigerated is the right answer: one concealed system heating and cooling every room, with the bedrooms and living areas on separate zones so you only run what you use. Where the builder left good ductwork for gas heating, add-on cooling can do the same job for less. For a townhouse, a multi-head split system is often the better fit.

Often, yes. The Victorian Energy Upgrades program offers discounts when an old gas heater or inefficient air conditioner is replaced with an energy-efficient reverse cycle system. The amount depends on the home and the system, so we do not quote a figure here. We check your eligibility at the assessment and show it on the quote.

No. We install and replace heating and cooling systems for homes, and we do not do repairs, maintenance or commercial work. If your system has a fault, a service company is the right call. If it is old enough that repair no longer makes sense, we will give you an honest replacement quote. Clean the filters each season and most systems look after themselves.
